Council Seats Open Up.

We've heard that the Cheverly Ward 6 Council Seat will be open at the next election, as Councilwoman Emily Tevault has declined to run for a second term. We've also heard rumors that another Council Seat on the West side of Town is going to be opening as well, but nothing final so far.

The Town continues to be without a representative for Ward 5, which seems to be a commonplace occurrence. While representation for the apartments would be excellent for a Ward 5 Councilperson, there are no candidates stepping forward. Instead of leaving this seat vacant for eternity, we'd like to see an "At-Large" Council seat be created, and re-draw the current Ward maps to better reflect 5 Wards.

While this will leave the current Ward 5 with no "dedicated" representation, that's certainly a better alternative to what we have now.

You'd have a lot more people standing for Council seats if the small issue of "must be a US citizen" was relaxed.
