We had THREE more burglaries this Saturday night in town.
In each case, the perpetrators entered the house through an unlocked window or door.
In the event you've not been reading the glorious ChvBlog, or have otherwise been ignorant of crime in town, this is the typical way of entry during a robbery. So, if you plan on getting all upset about the increase in crime in Cheverly, do your part to stop these crimes by locking your doors and windows.
Otherwise, we'll start posting address of crimes here and embarrass you to death.

I've been laughing all day...bad karma I'm sure...but I have a hard time understanding why people don't lock their doors and windows. I don't wish anyone harm, but come on, we're not in the Northwoods where the worst thing you have to worry about is a deer or bear breakin' in.
I've got twenty windows and three doors and it is hard making sure all of them are locked.
For people that don't open their windows, I'm sure it's not a chore.
But for those of us who enjoy fresh air in our well-lit houses, it kinda is.
How many of us tug on each window before bed each night to make sure it is locked?
It's very easy to miss a closed window that is unlocked.
There are no excuses for leaving a window open though.
I do lock every door and window each day. Generally before I leave the room the window gets locked. Doors are locked and re-checked at least once each evening. We were robbed once 5 yrs ago within months of moving to Cheverly, so I am a little paranoid. BTW, all the doors and windows were locked then also.
Be smart people!
I have secondary glazing. Which would more than freak a burglar out.
Think invisible forcefield.
Part of my evening ritual, every night before bed, is to cruise all the doors and windows to make sure they are closed and locked. It's as natural as brushing my teeth....a daily ritual.
Just my $.02
Brian
I do that too.
But, as my wife is quick to remind me, there is a very fine line between doing that and having an obsessive compulsive disorder.
Don't do it every night.
